Sun-kissed girl group Honeyblood last month dropped the single off their new debut, just in time to cool you down with its creative hooks and candy-coated vocals.
The band is just two: Scottish women, drummer Shona McVicar and vocalist and guitarist Stina Tweeddale, and their sound recalls Haim or Best Coast.
With a bit of punk and bright harmonization, “Killer Bangs” moves at a fast clip until it briefly switches time signatures. The recently released song was an Insound “track of the week” last month.
Honeyblood’s debut was released on FatCat Records July 15.
