Flying Lotus heats up the passion on “Corona, the Terminator”

LA artist Flying Lotus has released another single this week from his new album “You’re Dead!” and it attests to the vocal finesse of Flying Lotus (aka Steven Ellison) as well as his production skills.
“Corona, the Terminator,” besides its brittle, sci-fi-sounding name, actually has a soft heart inside, with light percussion that bleeds seduction. “Corona” is not shy about fronting the psychedelic side, but it blends effortlessly with Flying Lotus’ slow hip-hop style. And then, just like that, the song is gone.

Listen at “You’re Dead!” is out Oct. 6 in the UK and Oct. 7 in the U.S. via Warp.

This Tuesday, Sept. 23, Flying Lotus will host a four-hour  TUMBLR IRL event in LA with music from his new album that combines with visuals from collaborators Shintaro, Strangeloop and Timeboy. The event is from 7-11 p.m. at Mack Sennett Studios, 1215 Bates Ave., Los Angeles, Calif.
